It's time to get familiar with resistance band exercises. As the name suggests, resistance bands provide resistance to a regular bodyweight workout and make it extra challenging. When you're training your body, adding resistance band exercises can help engage all muscles.

What do resistance bands do? 

Resistance bands are commonly used for strength training. They help activate and tone muscles, building strength along the way. Like dumbbells, kettlebells, or other free weights, resistance bands offer a simple yet effective way to get an all-around strength workout in the comfort of your own home, without turning your living room into a gym.

Strength Training

Strength training is when muscles work to overcome a resistance greater than the muscle is accustomed to. As your muscles become stronger, your resistance band will begin to feel easy and you'll need to increase the level of resistance. This is called progressive resistance and it stimulates our muscles to stay strong and firm. 

Our total body workouts target all your muscles, including the hips, glutes, thighs, chest, back, shoulders, and arms. These workouts are full of tried and true classics, from squats and lunges to pushups and much more.

Stretching and Recovery

Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong and healthy and we need that flexibility to maintain a proper range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten, become tight and it increases the probability of injury. Stretching may also help relieve the symptoms of arthritis and muscle stiffness.

Recovery or self massage with a foam roller or a massage ball, can lead to impressive flexibility improvements. It may limit soreness and tightness by increasing blood flow, it makes it easier for your arteries to dilate and decrease their stiffness. Check with your doctor before commencing any self treatment.

Yoga

Yoga can improve your mental well being. Regular yoga practice creates mental clarity and calmness which will increase body awareness, relieve chronic stress patterns, relax the mind, center attention and sharpen concentration.

Every system in the body relies on oxygen. From cognition to digestion, effective breathing can not only provide you with a greater sense of mental clarity, it can also help you sleep better, digest food more efficiently, improve your body's immune response and reduce stress levels.

Boxing workouts are a great aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise gets your heart pumping and helps lower the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. It can strengthen bones and muscles, burn more calories and lift your mood.
